I think I had an idea to implement tactical options in the game.
To understand better my idea it's important to explain you an expression that I named Marking Close. This means that, using this against a player from the adversary team, will decrease his opportunities to score goals. But, in the other hand, the other players from the adversary team, will have more space to play and will be more dangerous.
So how can we apply this tactical options in handball mania?
It's simple: imagine you choose 5+1 tactic. It means that you will mark close one of the adversary players. Choosing 4+2 you will mark 2 adversary players, etc.
Suppose we will play against this team:
GK - 22,3
Left Winger - 20,4
Right Winger - 21,6
Left Back - 30,2
Right Back - 23,5
Pivot - 19,6
Playmaker - 32,1
Total rating: 169,7
Obviously, that team has a good left back and a great playmaker. My tactical choice could be:
4+2, Marking close positions:1- Left back 2- Playmaker
it will decrease in 10% the rating of that 2 players, but will increase in 5% the other 4 players.
10% * 2 = 5% * 4
The results of my choice on my opponent ratings will be:
GK - 22,3
Left Winger: 20,4 + 20,4 * 5% = 21,4
Right Winger: 21,6 + 21,6 * 5% = 22,6
Left Back: 30,2 - 30,2 * 10% = 27,2
Right Back: 23,5 + 23,5 * 5% = 24,7
Pivot: 19,6 + 19,6 * 5% = 20,6
Playmaker: 32,1 - 32,1 * 10% = 28,9
Total rating: 157,7
Choosing 5+1 tactic it will decrease in 10% the rating of the marked player, and increase in 2% the other 5 players.
10% * 1 = 2% * 5
Choosing 3+3 it will decrease in 10% the rating of the 3 marked players and increase in 10% the other 3 players.
3 * 10% = 3* 10%
Using 3+2+1 tactic, it will decrease in 8% the rating of the marked player(1), decreasing also the rating of 2 semi marked players in 5% each. The 3 other players will increase his rating 6%.
1 * 8% + 2 * 5% = 3 * 6%
At last, using 6-0, nothing happens to the ratings of the adversary teams. This is the default tactic like the one we are using right now without tactical implement in Handballmania.
It's very important that we keep the advantages and disavantages of tactical changes equals in %. With this mechanism, It would be very interesting to study our opponents and try to understand their strategy. A good tactical choice could decrease our opponent rating and this could result in a better game for us. A bad tactical choice could increase our opponent rating.
What do you think about the idea? In my opinion it's quite simple, and easy to implement.
