I would like to open a debate about existence of continental championship, continental teams, and continental NT.
According to my experience as manager and NC, I think continents should not exist in anyway but championships:
All managers register in Asia, Oceania, Europe, Africa or South América belong to a real country. So it would better to join our own country:
-If it is a "big enough to have its own championship", then move to it.
-If not, then join a small country, and all the small countries (I mean, under 10 teams, for example), play together in a united championship (geographical or not..).
USA, Israel, UK, Japan, Andorra... could also for instance join these championships. When a country overall 15 teams, they could form a new specific league. IMO, a championship under 7 teams is not very interesting or exiting.
In that way, a Greek manager can still have is team, pull new young trainees, a Canadian, a Tunisia or a Chinese too...
Then, about continental teams:
It could be difficult for managers (like me or some other) who have build a team with young players from this citizenship in order to train them until NT to change this point.
In another hand, this is quite unfair to have good young players which could never involved any NT because their NT doesn't exist. This is unfair and unrealistic.
So I think the "continental Coach" should be allowed to call any player from those small countries : in Africa, for instance, I would be able to base our team on South-African, Egyptian, Tunisian or Senegalese players...
In that way, maybe Asia could have a competitive team, and Europe also.
I made a quick poll with other managers from Africa, Asia and Oceania, and a majority is already OK for joining together. I don't know what about changing Europa, Africa or other "continental-ity", this is just my today's idea
Anyway, before Anders just imagine to begin working about such a kind of simplification, what to you think about it ?
